We recently took over management of a lead generation Google Ads account where the cost per lead was getting out of control and our client was losing money every day. By adopting some urgent hard optimisation tactics we were able to bring down the CPA fast.
To demonstrate this quickly to our client we uploaded the Google Ads performance data into our ChatGPT account, applied the ChatGPT 4 setting together with the new Code Interpreter plugin. We then used the following Prompt to generate an animated gif of the average cost per action each day over a 30 day period.
What happened is that the CPA fell sharply although, as is typical there were significant daily fluctuations as you’d expect from something that is dependent on human behaviours, but there’s also a clear downward trend.
